When looking in the downloads page for the plex media players, there is no option for Linux downloads in the apps and devices selection. Is there an official version of PMP for Linux available in a deb package or AppImage, etc. Its kinda becoming annoying needing to use plexamp for music but then needing to go through my web browser to watch movies and TV shows. So there is the plex media server what has native linux support, plexamp what has native linux support but then no native general player for linux. Dont get me wrong, i love plex but not having a fully native, hardware accelerated plex media player application for linux is quite frustrating and inconvenient. The plex media players on windows and macos both use FFMPEG, MPV and QT, all what are native on linux so i dont see the reason why there is no native player like with windows and macos.

There’s an inofficial build of a PMP package for various distros

Plex have mentioned they’re working on a Linux version of the new Plex HTPC app (“coming soon”)
