Hello. I am new to plex. I have tried to play titles with AAC 5.1 audio,but I only get (pcm) stereo sound.
My receiver (denon avr x4100w) is connected to my pc with a hdmi cable.
If I use the Netflix app on my pc I get 5.1 audio.
Do I need to do something in the settings?
Really appreciate if anyone could help me.

Are you actually using the Plex Media Player
or are you still using the web app in your web browser?
The PMP is a separate download https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app
Once you have it installed, start it, connect it to your plex.tv account
and then make sure you put it into the TV mode:
Afterwards, it looks like this:
Now click on your user avatar on the top, right
then Settings - Audio
set ‘Device Type’ to “HDMI” first
then select the number of channels that your AVR has speakers connected for
then below, put a checkmark on every surround sound format, which your AVR can decode.
Most AVR cannot play AAC 5.1, so that is being played as LPCM. Therefore, your AVR must have support for multichannel LPCM.
After making these settings, return to the home page by pressing h.
You can now switch back to the Desktop mode, if you wish.

I did just as you said, and I have 5.1 audio. Thank you so much!! Now I can really enjoy a movie.
