Plex Media Scanner crashes for me when I run ‘Plex Media Scanner’ --refresh --force --item 123.
This causes metadata to not be loaded when a script calls for a item scan or a item refresh.
I’d like to confirm this is a bug and id like to know where better to post so it gets fixed if it is a bug.
information on the media scanner by command line can be found at https://support.plex.tv/articles/201242707-plex-media-scanner-via-command-line/

Did you set LD_LIBRARY_PATH?
There are a couple other things that may need to be set in the environment too.
There are some combination of options that the CLI Scanner doesn’t like or operations that need to be done in multiple steps.
If at all feasible, let me encourage you to use the HTTP API or the Python PlexAPI instead.
Thank you for your reply! I will try these things out.
@Volts
Refreshing metadata with HTTP API. Works like a charm. Really appreciate you responding and moving me forward with a solution. I owe you a beer.

Did you see the latest PMS update? Includes this fix:
(Scanner) New movies would have incomplete metadata if the scan was invoked from the command line (#12156 )
@Volts haha of course it does.
