I am watching a show and all it does is freeze and chipmunk audio … before this was only happening on commercials now it is happening on livetv., Viewing on ShieldTV
I used to get the commercial chimpunk audio (freaked me out) but since the last couple of updates, I don’t get that anymore. I am on Shield as well…

I think it has something to do with Pass-through which is a must have … PLEX is the only one when I enable pass-through I get distorted audio … all other software passes audio just fine.
I do passthrough as well!

Well glad it works for you
but it doesn’t work for me … trying to get Plex to share tuners , support multiple lineups (tuners) and work without stuttering not worth it … I have moved onto emby and uninstalled Plex… Plex and EMBY do the same thing but EMBY does the DVR much better.
@nyplayer I would be interested in your feedback around plex vs emby. I am not married to plex but I am married to my wife and it is not happy times when plex fails when wife is watching!

No comparison EMBY is rock solid and shares HDHomerun tuners with other APPS. If you want a DVR that is reliable 24x7 it has to be EMBY or HDHomerun app if using HDHomeRun tuners. Plex has a long way to go and I mean a long way to goooo. Emby you can set it to view direct tv if you do not care to timeshift… and passthrough works you do not get a warning that you may suffer audio corruption.

Thats interesting, their forum page for live tv seems to be filled with many of the same things I see repeatedly here. Every now and then I recheck as I like plex alot but am always open to something better. Maybe your Emby experience has been like my plex experience. Plex DVR has generally worked very well for me, sounds like emby has for you.

Plex right now is no good if you have a Prime and need to share the tuners with HDHomerun or WMC to watch DRM. EMBY has no problem sharing tuners both Connects and Primes and supports multiple lineups and tuners… Plus I do not get Chipmunk audio. Oh forgot to mention Grid Guide.
Ok i got chipmunk sound during commercials when watching CNN last night. Only during commercials though.

You nailed it. Its like some people have great luck with Chevy (I don’t) and some people have great luck with Ford (I do)… I to get on Plex about problems but in all fairness it has come a long way since the old days when I got my PlexPass. There working hard to fix the problems all while trying to give us the features we ask for. Plex vs Emby are very different animals.
