Ok, running the beta 1.25.0.5220 and there are no artefacts, hardware transcoding “works” (shows up in the dashboard) BUT my system actually transcodes faster with it disabled.

Software transcoding: speed = 0.8 to 1.1 (no buffering)

Here’s intel_gpu_top running to show there’s plenty of headroom for transcoding.

EDIT: I installed Jellyfin which worked perfectly. As you can see, the iGPU is being worked much harder:
