I will suggest to the developers that the service is set to start delayed by default. There is no need to have it run immediately after bootup.

I am having the same issue. No replies on the thread I posted. The last update that worked was 1.19.1.2630. Since then nothing. I have my metadata stored on a different drive (D;\PlexData) and the drive is bitlocker encrypted. I am getting tired of constantly trying to update my Plex sever and now just hit skip this version.
Have you checked if the ‘Plex Updater Service’ is running on your system?
It might fail to start at bootup, if the drive hasn’t been unlocked yet.
That is an interesting variable I hadn’t considered. I’m also bitlocker encrypted. That may be why delayed start is now working for me as well.
Excellent, it worked perfectly, thank you
If I might be nosey, what worked perfectly for you? Delayed Start? I have updated several times after changing mine and it’s worked flawlessly ever since changing the update service to delayed.
Had to turn the update service back on, it fails to start with a bitlocker drive
