I recently tried migrating all of my media from external hard drives to internal hard drives. When I did this, Plex stopped playing or analysing the video content. It would see the files, but wouldn’t analyse the media content and wouldn’t play anything. The Video, Audio and Subtitle fields would show none, but you could download the file through Plex to any device and it would be playable. After troubleshooting to no avail, I ended up doing a complete reinstallation of the server (including TEMP files and reg key).
Now the problem is even worse! The same problem is happening with video, but now it can’t see any of my music files AT ALL! The folder structure is exactly the same as it was before, I’ve even tried going back to my external drives but it can’t read those anymore. I’ve discovered that with the video files I can unmatch the metadata and then rematch them, and it will suddenly be playable. This is cumbersome but doable for the entire library, but this doesn’t fix the music library.
There’s got to be something local causing the issue because it’s a fresh install of the server. Any ideas?
PLEASE don’t say naming, I have named my files and folders very carefully, it’s not that. I’ve also checked folder permissions and given full access to all objects. I’ve checked my network settings and they’re all fine.
