I re-installed Windows 10 Pro on my PC that was running Plex Media Server for many years with no issues. I had to install on a new disk because the old one was failing. After installing, and installing a fresh copy of Plex Media Server, using my lifetime pass credentials, all links to my media folders (music, movies, pics, etc.) are now unavailable. They show up in the menu bar, but with an alert triangle next to all of them. Since I have all the data settings from the old drive, is there anything I can transfer over to the new drive to get them back again?
All your libraries, all your metadata were stored on your old hard drive.
The basis is this procedure: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201539237-backing-up-plex-media-server-data/
For Windows, you’d not only need to copy the old Plex data folder, but also the contents of the Windows registry branch that pertains to Plex.

Hi Otto. I have all my media libraries back up and running, but all of my local audio files for each album are showing the tracks alphabetically, and not by the track number, even though all the albums have the metadata for track number, album, title, etc. Please let me know how to troubleshoot this.
Thanks,
Gary
That sounds like a known issue which will be fixed in the next server version.
Just updated to the beta version, and I still have these problems:
1- I have 2 music libraries with local files. One of them grabs the metadata and shows the tracks for each album correctly, but the other one does not. I have checked the metadata for the one that does not, and all the metadata is there, but tracks are only showing alphabetically.
2- I have a number of movie files on my local drive that show in my movie library, but a few of them are missing.
Are they using the same agent settings and library preferences?
In general: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543057-why-is-some-of-my-content-not-found/
The support doc you refer to in your reply mentions that Plex does not support Video_TS files. All my movie files are .ts files, but the ones that show in the library play fine. Is there something I am missing? Do I need to convert all my .ts files to another format?
Try remuxing them into MKV and see if it helps.
Update on my progress: It turns out I was dealing with a couple of red herrings. Regarding the movie files, after deleting and recreating the movie library, I noticed that the files I though were missing were actually part of what Plex calls ‘collections’, so there was one thumbnail showing for however many episodes I had for a particular series. If I filtered the view to show duplicates, the series thumbnail would show, and then I could split the collection. After that, the individual files would show in the list. FYI - I did not need to convert any of these files. They all play fine as .ts files.
Regarding the audio files, after deleting and recreating the library they all grabbed the correct metadata for track numbers.
Thanks for your input, Otto, and hopefully this may help others with the same issues.
