Sounds great. I’ll be ready to test it when it becomes available.
Have a great weekend!

I would like to offer a development build to a few users to try and confirm the fix, please let me know the package you need - you can give me the platform and also indication as to which of the downloads files on https://plex.tv/downloads you would use
I need “Plex Media Server for Synology”.
Private Message sent
I have a synology as well, and plex has been useless for past 2 months and expecially the past 2 weeks - it is about 99% down, no access from apps or from web console, randomly shows up, but then loses. Can I get a dev build as well to test with? I have been using DSAudio & DSVideo which work fine on same synology.
There is an issue with the development build with one lockout reported after disabling remote access.
Could you provide logs with debug enabled beforehand to see if it is the same issue

Thanks…attached is the log zip. I restarted the PMS a day or two ago (removed all logs prior so this is a fresh set), have not been able to get in since but randomly. Currently, remote access has never shown green since the last update. Even on the local LAN – if I access the PMS successfully, if I click thru looking for movies and such, I get the donut and then an error after timeout. I have since loaded PMS on a windows server just to get a working one and still need to test that – but that is moving smooth. If I reboot my synology (on DSM 6.2 it seems is when PMS started to fail) – PMS will work for a short spell…but then stop again.
Hope this helps.
BTW – when I look at the logs for the server, I see a lot of XML errors with asci characters – but have not checked further if that is corruption or not.

Looking at your logs, that device is going NUTS. It is spraying

I can see the NAT/router related issue that causes lockouts and failures of client apps reaching the server

I have a development build i can make available to try - but if you do get the lockout i mentioned when disabling remote access, i would need you to get me the connections list and force a process dump and logs - i would give you the instructions
could you put this request in a browser and copy out the returned response to a text file and attach

some browsers actually do display the bad xml - or View Source
should show it
There will be some changes coming along in Plex Media Server to reduce the frequency of SSDP checks on devices after getting an error
I know there is another posting “Plex crashes after a while” with similar issues where we lose all remote access…but wanted to mention as well, it does not matter if on Synololgy or Windows - both exhibit the same loss of access. I started a fresh load on a windows 2016 server and now that too has no remote access. Any idea when we will see Plex dev’s push out a version that has a fix?
thx.
With regards to the transient lockouts whilst the server is communicating with the router, I am hopeful that there will be a hot fix beta reissue for 1.14.0 sometime in the coming week
Great…thx for the update.
Plex Media Server 1.14.0.5468 has just been released as Beta. It has the fix for the transient lockout seen in evidence here. It also has a fix for uPnP auto port mapping
See Release Notice
Anyone running an early beta or a development build with early release of these fixes should now update to the official beta, Thank you for helping confirm the fixes
closing this as the fix has been confirmed
