I have finally had enough. I need your help. For many months, my Plex Media Server running on a Windows 7 machine, constantly disconnects randomly. I thought it might be when our electricity fluctuates but that is not the case and i have it plugged into a high caliber APC with backup. No other application is affected on this computer just Plex. Also, in the task bar where the Show Hidden icons is, when you look at it when this happens, the Plex icon is there, but when you put your curser over it, it disappears. This indicates Plex Media Server is not running. I then start the Plex Media Server and it reconnects till it randomly happens again. Please help solve this problem which is a real pain when i or my kids are out of network remote.
I came here to post something similar. I noticed that I keep connecting and disconnecting from the Plex server. I will say that my server is accessible and then moments later switch to Not Available Outside My Network.
I haven’t changed a THING and I just noticed it today.
This was supposedly fixed 2 versions ago. I am running Tautulli which monitors the Plex logs for activity and I get pushbullet notifications when remote access status changes. Here is a snippet of today’s notifications. This goes on 24/7. If someone is on, doesn’t seem to affect them but if its down when someone tries , no server found.
I have a new Plex server install. I am streaming to my new Vizio TV that has Plex built in instead of a standard UPNP client. At random times the TV will report that the Plex server is offline. I can select “try again” and it will reconnect instantly, however I need to manually restart my show.
Any suggestions on how to increase stability? On the Plex server?
