Plex Media Server for armhf (arm64) Debian / Ubuntu: Beta Packages

Nevermind.

@ā€œso.lu@me.comā€ This thread is only for Preview releases that are not publicly available. Just use the repo in my signature for the public releases.

@uglymagoo I just need to read the instructions that you have provided. Thank you for playing!

Here is DVR Beta 4 Redux.

This is awesome and I love using the DVR on my pi 2 with HDHR extend, any chance we can get the update to plex pass 1.4.1 version with DVR support as well? I’m happy with where it is so far, but thought I’d ask to show that there is at least some interest still =)

In time Uglymagoo will update this thread…usually 24 hr. give or take, depending on life…you know give him some time to breath.

There are instructions on how to edit his installer yourself if patience is not in your virtue.

Here is 1.4.1.

I told you…What A Guy!

Awesome, @uglymagoo you were definitely faster than me even attempting to try it myself. In fact you were even faster than me being able to reply to @DMackG that I could wait =)

Thanks again for your work!!

Update from 1.34.3285 to 1.41.3362 not work. Plexserver will not start ;(

@Lanxon We require some more information  The update was OK, there was no error message on the terminal? What have you already tried? What is your OS?

PMS took about 2 minutes to start after the update on my Banana Pi.

I get no error message, but with htop i can see plexserver is not startet. At first i go back on 1.34, this solved my Problem. I try it again in few Days, i need more time to analyze what is wrong.

I use an XU4 Odroid with Dietpi on it…

Here is 1.4.2.

has anyone managed to get 1.4.3 installed? tried it manually using the Netgear ARM 6.x RN2xx one but it says it’s ARMEL and NOT ARMHF

Thanks

You cannot install the Netgear RN2xx package as it is. It’s not compatible to any Debian or Ubuntu distribution. You can, however, use the package in my repo.

Hi uglymagoo thanks, most of the guides said the manual version needed to be built on a RPI from that one.

I couldn’t see the new one in your repo so I thought I would just do it manually

Hi all, I realize this may not be the best place to post this question but I don’t see an Odroid section in the PMS category.

I am running a pretty vanilla Ubuntu on an odroid XU4 which has 8 CPU cores. I expected that it would be more than powerful enough to handle whatever I’m doing, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I wonder if there is anything I can do to speed up transcoding?

The biggest issue I have is that I am using PlexConnect to stream through my AppleTV (3rd gen) and it can’t keep up when playing 1080P or higher video. I’m not positive, but it also seems that the trouble might be with the audio stream instead of the video?

Anyway, anyone also running an XU4 out there or have any suggestions on what I can look at/improve upon?

Where else should I post this question to get feedback?

Some other details:
-My Plex metadata and video directories are on a Netgear ReadyNAS, I don’t think filesystem bandwidth is an issue here.
-The plex transcoder does seem to run at nearly 800% when playing the video, so it ā€œseemsā€ like the CPU is maxed out but I wonder if there’s some other underlying cause

Thanks for your help!

There is no official PMS for Odroid, so there is no official forum  Please use our unofficial main thread for further questions.

Video transcoding is not a real option on your device. Please always use settings that allow Direct Play or Direct Stream.

Thanks for the prompt response uglymagoo!

Unfortunately directplay/stream isn’t a real option for PlexConnect to the AppleTV gen 3 so I guess I’m a bit stuck

FWIW, transcoding does work, it’s just slow

I’ll continue on the main thread as you have suggested, thanks again.

Here is 1.4.4.
