Plex Media Server Inoperable on DSM 7.2.2

Hey guys

As far as I know, my DS1019+ didnt install any updates, but I booted up plex today and noticed it was offline. Checked in DSM, plex was not running. Tried to run it, it seems to run for a few seconds then stops, it shows “manually stopped” which is obviously not the case.

Installed the latest beta update which is v.1.41.9.9961-46083195d but same result. Won’t run for more than a few seconds.

Tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing. Went ahead and updated my dsm to the latest version and again reinstall plex, no change.

Any suggestions?

In DSM, with File Station, navigate to the Plex Data Folder.

Right click on the Logs directory, choose compress to logs.zip.

Download the zip file and post to the thread.

I figured it out. It seems my preferences xml file somehow got corrupted. Deleted that and all was well.

Thanks for posting your solution mate. I had the same issue. Deleting preferences.xml fixed my install as well.

hi! I have the same problem and I just tried to delete the preferences xlm but it makes no difference. happend overnight today. Probably because I updated to PlexMediaServer-1.41.9.9961-46083195d-x86_64_DSM72.spk

May I see a ZIP file of the Logs folder with PMS stopped ?
