Plex Media Server - Instant crash after launch

Server Version#:v1.25.5.5492-12f6b8c83
Player Version#: ~ multiple
OS: Windows Server 2019

Greetings! Some time within the past 2 weeks, my Plex media server process crashed. This is nothing new, it was prone to getting stuck / crashing every few weeks (an issue i intended to remedy, but hadn’t figured out yet). This time however it wouldn’t come back up. Most of the time i could just kill all PMS processes and relaunch and everything would be grand. I’ve rebooted the host server, ive installed windows updates, i’ve even reinstalled PMS over the old instance… but nothing has changed. The application will launch and appear in the system tray, but vanishes as soon as i mouse over it, no matter how quickly i check it. I’ve checked the task manager and no PMS processes are running in the background. I’ve checked the PMS logs and havent seen anything jump out at me as being a cause for the crash.

I’m not sure what logs you’d need to see so i’ll just include all the most recent ones.

Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Are you running a Torrent client software on the same computer?

Yes, though it has never been an issue before. I did also recently switch programs, but Plex seemed to be running just fine after the switch. It also doesn’t seem to matter if the torrent program is completely shut down. Plex still won’t launch.

The only other change I made roughly around the same time was me trying to set my own custom ssl cert, so I could use https://(my domain):32400/web/index.html and have it work just fine. It never seemed to work. Still received ssl errors, so I gave up on it.

Turns out, even though the log didn’t indicate that there was a problem. My custom Cert i was attempting to use was preventing it from launching. I just moved the cert to a different location and Plex picked right back up where it left off. no major changes needed.
