Thanks for looking @SE56 …
the server version from the logs shows INFO - Plex Media Server v1.21.1.3830-6c22540d5 - Apple Mac x86_64 - build: darwin-x86_64 macos , I believe it’s the latest release available.
I’ve not considered doing a Hdwr test , but it’s worth a shot …I may be able to do that today … but I really want to check the raid array first (the Mercury volume) .
In the meantime , let me work on some logs for you.
thanks
Yesterday I was trying to perform a backup of the Mini and it kept rebooting… similar behavior to what was happening when PMS was doing scheduled tasks, so I started suspecting i had errors on the RAID enclosure. I ran first aid (fsck) on the array but it came back clean so I reformatted the array and restored all the data from a backup a few months ago. I started up PMS this morning and set the schedule tasks to 9AM and when the time came, I could see a brief flurry of activity on the disks from PMS and then all went quiet and normal.
So, in the end, it appears as though I picked up some corruption in some of my files and when PMS was running over the errors, it would cause a fatal IO error in MacOS and reboot the Mini.
At least it wasn’t caused by PMS, right?
Thanks for all the help with this .
@jacflash… It was errors on the raid array. Every time it would run over a damaged file, the OS would hang on the IO error. Thankfully I had backups and was able to restore the data after eventually replacing both the disks .
System working fine after that.
