Plex Media Server loadiing problems

btw in the past it started pretty much soon after rebooting

And it comes up promptly when you start it via the Start menu?
Or do you need to perform some tricks?

Yes it comes up via start menu .
Is that sarcasm regarding tricks

Odds are its not setup for auto start correctly.

Save this as a plex_run.reg and then double click it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Plex Media Server"="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Plex\\Plex Media Server\\Plex Media Server.exe\""

hi

can you tell me exactly how i do that? i made a text file pasted the registry info and saved it as plex_run.reg and double clicked it but it gave me a error. what am i doing wrong?

You need to use notepad.exe
Not WordPad or Word or other word processors.

What was the error message?

yes i did use notepad. i figured it out. i know what i did wrong. so i got the registry file to go through and i rebooted. after rebooting i waited more than 20 minutes and still plex media server will not start up in the system tray. i guess the only suggestion left is to remove plex completely and start again? i have revo uninstaller pro.

btw in my 15 libraries i have many folders in most of them and theres a few with thousands of videos. those are youtube channel site rips. should i break libraries with that amount of data into more libraries? cause it still lags on loading some folders. however not as bad as it was before i learned about optimization. i checked that app you told me about and the three hard drives i have all are listed as good and at a cool temperature.
