Server Version#:6.9.2
Hello Everyone
I recently made a big mistake on my plex server that resulted in me reaching the following screen.
I was running plex on an ubuntu server but later wiped the drive to give to a friend with plans to move to unraid. I forgot to however correctly remove the old server and now am stuck and am unable to claim my current server.
Can someone advise me on the quickest way to set up a new server in docker. I am not concerned with saving the old data. I would just like to set up a new server.
After doing some reading can I alter my Preferences.xml to unregister my plex media server.
(Below was taken from some plex documentation)
Linux
- Quit/exit your Plex Media Server, so it’s not actively running
- In your text editor, remove the following attribute/key pairs from the
Preferences.xmlfile:
PlexOnlineHome="1"PlexOnlineMail="jane@example.com"PlexOnlineToken="RanDoMHexIDecIALtoKeNheRE"PlexOnlineUsername="ExampleUser"
- Save the edited file
- Launch your Plex Media Server
If i am on the right track can someone guide me as to which values i should be changing.
