Plex Media Server not showing in Android App

I’m using a Galaxy ZFold4 and am running the 11 March update version of your plex app. I recently made a media server and have it running on my local network.

I added a manual connection to my Plex TV app, iPad and they worked fine when connecting (allow insecure connections set to “on same network” for all) - no issues at all. But for some reason, I cannot get it to work on the android app.

Despite setting the manual connections up identically to the other devices, the server won’t show on Android.

Troubleshooting steps:

  • I uninstalled and reinstalled the app

  • I logged out and back in

  • I cleared cached and saved data

  • tried different insecure connections settings

  • tried added the IP address into both connections 1 and 2 within “advanced” settings

  • tried again adding from scratch to iPad and TV apps - successfully

The only thing that isn’t working is the android app. It just won’t pick up the media server. There aren’t any VPNs or Proxys that would cause issues either, I read through your forum post on the issue.

Is this potentially an issue with the app? Please let me know, I really have tried everything from my end.

Here i have sort of same issue.

Today i installed a new Modem (Fritzbox 7590 AX - I had 7590) with copy of backup of the old one.

Plex just works at my Laptop and Chromecast TV. But on my mobile it works only on wifi and with VPN out. With 5G with and without VPN it won’t connect.

On the laptop is works with VPN. I didn’t change any of the settings on my mobile. I checked the settings of port forwarding in modem. But it’s all the same at is wat on old modem.
