Plex media server not showing on Authorized Devices and not showing in Plex

Server Version#:1.31.1.6716
Player Version#:1.64.2.3546
Windows 10

I have tried everything that I could find on the forum already and can get nothing to work.
It started as plex media server randomly disappearing. I am not having that problem anymore. Now the server will not show up in plex at all. Please help. Hopefully I have attached the correct log files as I had to do it manually as the option is not available in my account.

The Plex database is corrupted.

From Plex Media Server.log:
Feb 17, 2023 14:07:40.376 [12700] ERROR - SQLITE3:0x7ff68f5292c0, 11, database corruption at line 83189 of [1b256d97b5]

Download and run the PlexDBRepair utility.

  1. Download
  2. Unzip
  3. Stop Plex Media Server
  4. Run from command line
    c:\DBRepair-WinDev.bat

Sample Output:

c:\Temp>DBRepair-WinDev.bat

It says the “The system cannot find the path specified”

Are you running it as user “Ryzen 3600”?

The Plex Data Folder, where the application stores the database, etc is C:\Users\Ryzen 3600\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server.

It is looking for the databases in C:\Users\Ryzen 3600\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases.

Yes as far as I know. It fully says this:
C:>DBRepair-WinDev.bat
15:14:12.11 – ====== Session begins. (Fri 02/17/2023) ======
15:14:12.41 – Exporting Main DB
The system cannot find the path specified.

Think I found it.

Plex Media Server is installed in C:\Program Files\Plex\PMS\.

The Utility is looking for it in C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Server\.

Can you edit the bat file and change one line? Use any text editor, or right click on it and choose edit.

Current:
set "PlexSQL=%PROGRAMFILES%\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex SQLite"
Change to:
set "PlexSQL=%PROGRAMFILES%\Plex\PMS\Plex SQLite"

That should let the utility run.

when the repair fails it is in the path that you listed and this is the directory listiing of what is there:
C:\Users\Ryzen 3600\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases>dir
Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 9C32-0E4A

Directory of C:\Users\Ryzen 3600\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases

This version has the edited line mentioned in above post. It should run OK.

DBRepair-WinDev-1.zip (1.6 KB)

Running… hopefully that will fix it. Thank you so much for your help… I am working away from home and really miss having access to plex while I am away for months at a time.

I edited the first one. It is done. Then I just start the media server?

Yes. Start Plex Media Server. It should start right up.

You are a life saver!!! I have spent so many hours trying to search the forums and online. It started right up and I was able to claim the server, which I had deleted trying to fix it…

Sweet! Glad it is working. Reply back if you run into any other issues w/ PMS.

Is it safe for me to leave the log files in the message above or should I delete them (if that is possible)

Noticed you already removed them.

For future reference, log files have the following:

  • server owner’s Plex username and e-mail address
  • Plex username of anyone that logs into the server (friends, etc you’ve granted access)
  • public IP address of the server
  • path to the Plex Data Folder, which, on Windows, has the user name used to run Plex Media Server (c:\users\user_name\appdata.…).
