Plex media server on Pi1 B ARM6

Hi, I’ve got an old pi 1 model B running XBMC (OSMC) as the os. I’ve dumped all my media content on a USB external drive and use it as my media centre. it copes admirably, so I’ve just brought a couple of cheap NowTV ROKU boxes and loaded Plex to them, but I’m having problems getting a plex media server to work on my pi. Ive looked at the Rasplex client, but don’t think that is the solution as i’m not using the Pi as clients, its what the ROKU boxes with Plex are for. I’ve looked at the Plexbmc server, but suspect that the pi1 B ARM6 doesn’t have the grunt to do the job and even if it did, that the os i’m using on the PI isn’t compatible with the Linux based media servers ((Ubuntu, fedora etc)?
I was thinking that a light weight Fedora Linux OS like Pidora might suffice, side loading OSMC to the OS then running the Plex media server through the Pidora browser, but I don’t have enough knowledge to make it work and my little Pi struggles…
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? If I buy a Pi3 will this be up to the job of running the media server ? I do have a windows pc that could substitute as the server, but the pi fits inconspicuously behind the TV and is currently doing its job with OSMC? Any help would be appreciated…

From what I’ve read you can’t install PMS on less than an ARMv7 so I think you may be out of luck with that old Pi1. The Pi3 could do the job so long as all of the media are Roku native (ie. No Transcoding required). There are a few people who use a Pi3 in a car as a server.
