With Version 1.28.1.6104, /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Plex\ Media\ Scanner --scan started outputting the following warning:
The '--scan' operation is deprecated and will be removed in future versions of Plex Media Server
I have a 50TB set of libraries in the cloud for which all updates are followed by scans on specific directories. Due to problems in the past with missing updates as well as resource utilization, I am reluctant to have PMS automanage detection of new media.
While it seems that it is anathema for the Plex Developers to share their plans for the product, when warnings are added to the logs it would be helpful to know the strategy for changes which are the motivation for the warnings. I would like to know in advance as to which changes might require major changes to the automation which is managing my libraries.
