For some reason Plex does not pick up new videos anymore. According to the time stamp of the last added video and first video NOT added, this issue started about a week ago (10/25/2025 between 8:07 PM and 9:11 PM). When I try to manually scan videos (via Scan Library Files) the progress indicator spins and eventually stops, but no new videos show up in Plex. I checked the log and I see the warning message below, but nothing else indicating a failure. Any ideas how to get Plex to properly scan and add media again?

Occasionally, I’ll have something like this happen. Most times, the first thing I’ll try is “touch filename” where filename is your particular video file. Since you’re on Linux, you can do this.
If that doesn’t work, I’ll do the Plex dance (delete the file, wait a little, add the file back). Btw, I have auto-scan turned on, so I don’t do manual scans.
Sorry, should of mentioned… auto and manual scans are affected - no new videos, movies, tv shows, etc. have been added to Plex since 10/25/2025 ~8:08 PM even though they’re sitting in the file system. This is across all libraries, not just one library or file.
Same issue here, massive cloud library, and any new content just hangs during the scan. Reboots don’t help. Clearly something’s broken in version 1.43.0.10231. Can’t even add new libraries. Been using Plex for 13 years, and I’ve never seen a problem this serious. When will this be fixed?
Correction: you can reboot Plex to stop any stuck library scans — messy workaround, but it helps. All existing content works fine; the issue only affects new additions.
Here’s what works for now:

Create a new root folder on your disk (e.g. “TV Shows”).

Drop any new episodes (even copies) into that folder.

Add this new path as an additional location to your “TV Shows” library.

Plex will then start picking up new episodes.
If another large folder is being scanned, you’ll need to restart Plex to stop it.
Definitely a major scanning bug.
I’ve rebooted Plex several times, no luck. New media is added daily, but nothing new is showing up in Plex. I’ve had to have the family use Jellyfin as a temporary workaround, which is annoying.
Did you try creating a new folder, copying any new content into it, and then adding it to your main library (e.g. TV Shows) under Manage Library → Edit → Add Folders?
That workaround’s is working fine for me until a proper fix is released.
