Plex Media Server tied to OS user profile?

Server Version#:1.30.0.6486-629d58034
Player Version#:N/A

My primary user profile got corrupted and I had to create a new admin profile on my Win 10 system that runs my media server. I am able to load the media server program, but it isn’t connecting to my original media server, it’s treating it as a new install, is this normal? Do I really need to recreate my server? If so how can I delete the original server?

server database and such is in the user appdata https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/

Server settings like server ID are in registry https://support.plex.tv/articles/201105343-advanced-hidden-server-settings/

to remove an old server from account you can delete it in authorized devices https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms

How do I pull the reg key if I can’t login to that user account anymore, the user profile is corrupted and will not login anymore

Generally you can’t was just trying to give you info on where they are. Sorry for not being clear.

You can try to extract values from NTUSER.DAT file and manually enter them into the one for the new user.

Ok, so to be clear, I can not transfer my media server from a corrupted user profile to a clean user profile, correct?

yeah the actual database and such in appdata would be gone.

ok thank you

Are the profile files still there or did you delete the old profile?
