I’ve just updated to V1.5.5.3634 of the plex media server and noticed problems with the sound not playing on some of my TV Shows and the media player intermittent not successfully connecting to the media server.
How can I roll back to the previous plex media server which was stable and I had no problems ?
Thanks
OK I have narrowed it down to certain .MKV files which the Amazon Fire TV Stick and my Sony TV Plex app has problems playing. The .MKV files play perfectly through my Windows PC Plex media player but fail or plays with no sound on the Amazon Fire TV Stick or my Sony TV Plex media players.
The .MKV file(s) have a Frame 1280x720, Data rate 0kbps, Total bitrate 384kps, Frame Rate 23 fps.
The Data rate 0kps seems to be causing all sorts of plex media player problems on Amazon Fire Stick & Sony Plex app but not playing through my Windows PC plex media player.
Movie files which have a non-zero 0kps data rate seem to play okay!!

I can also report the similar issue, but this is happening with Roku Premiere+. It must be an issue with how Plex is handling MKV files because you are experiencing the similar issue and I am as well, there is now a pattern and it has to do with the MKV and how Plex processes the codec for viewing.
Basically if the MKV file has a Data Rate is 0kps the plex media player will crash out on the Amazon TV Fire and also on the Sony TV Plex App.
However, the MKV file will play okay through Windows Plex Media Player. Its certainly a bug which I hope the plex developers will fix. Let me know if you want a sample MKV file with a Data Rate of 0kps !!
