Hi all, I have a WD PR4100 NAS with Plex media server. all goes well for movies and series, but my music library scan is taking too long and after a while plex server stops responding on the web interface and i can’t see logs/settings etc… but it seems like the scanner keeps running on highest speed!
I have many (1.TB / 201.349 files) *.mp3 & *.jpg files within the music folder, with an perfectly arranged folder structure and naming standards.
There are no *.zip / *.rar / *.tmp / *.bad files within this folder available
Any idea how I can fix this? Or is this amount of files just to much for plex to handle?
You have your Settings > Debug Level set to Verbose. Set it to Disabled. If you’re scanning that amount of files with this on, that’s probably the cause of server freezes.
Dear CostaHT, first of all thanks for your respond. Yes, you are right. i had missed disabling the Verbose logging from General settings. This was already disabled under " Plex Web Debug Settings", but not under general settings.
So i disabled this, restarted the server, cleared cash and optimized database, cleaned bundles, etc..
Then i hit re-scan library for this ‘Music folder’… and now after 2 min the server freezes, before it was after few hours
Not even able to check logs, ass those also are not accessible! SO i restarted the server again to get logs, see attached.
I don’t know the answer for this question, but there are hundreds of error messages caused by Persian alphabet.

Can you eliminate this problem first so we can have better logs? adding a dot at the beginning of the name (.Persian) of a folder will prevent Plex from seeing it. (These movies will disappear from your library)
What is the disk usage on your device? df -h will give your a overview

/Persian/Raghs Rooye Shisheh - رقص روی شیشه/Raghs Rooye Shisheh.s01.e06.mp4 was an invalid file, which i have replaced and now it parse correctly with Plex… Persian language is not a pronlem as all files are correctly added into plex… i think there are several invalid files which are not getting processed…
so if you tell me within which log file i can find the list, i will check and will ensure all files are correct or removed… and will do another scan and will logs with you…

The SSDP error happens in many servers, including mine, but they never give a solution or convincing answer for that.
yesterday, post i had attached the log files, i retriggered the library scan and went to sleep. this morning i see it has been finished, but agaian the server has been frozen!
See last logs attached… is this an generic issue with Plex?
Maybe some Ninja can help. That’s an internal error that I don’t know the cause. But you can find some error in your logs if you type these commands inside the folder:
Linux: grep ERROR *
Windows: type * | find "ERROR" (not sure about this command)
is the DB corrupt?
