I always encounter the " Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install." error when trying to playback any files using the TrueHD audio. However switching that same file to AC3 or any other available audio file for the title will make the video play perfectly fine. This occurs on every device: apple tv 4, windows 10 plex app, vizo plex app, playstation 4 plex app, direct play from the WebUI of PMS on the unRAID server. VLC player has no issues playing these files directly from the unRAID server folder using either of the audio tracks.
Back in May I replied to a similar post with this issue but to date it and this topic in general regarding PLEX problems with TRUEHD audio codec error seem to have no good answer on these forums. So i am creating a new post and I hope that maybe this one will get some traction and a response.
Non-verbose log files are attached. generated directly after failure of video file to play and the above error shown. I have verbose file if required.
