Plex Media Server Windows --> External NAS (Mycloud Home)

Hi,

I want to install Plex Media Server on a Windows desktop. I have a Western Digital MyCloud Home drive I want to use for the storage of my movies. On the Western Digital MyCloud Home there is Plex as a service. I’ve used it in the past but I don’t want to use it that way going forward. Can I point the Plex Media Server installed on the Windows Desktop to the external storage on the Western Digital MyCloud Home? If so, how?

Thanks in advance,

Pete

yes map a network drive on your PC and use the WD as its destination.
when you add a library to Plex use this mapped drive.

@nokdim

Does the WD drive that is mapped need to be in a particular directory structure for Plex to find the media or does it just go with what you give it?

Pete

I would suggest you read this article and follow the structure documented there.
