I’ve been googling and looking on plex forums but cannot seem to find anything on this topic. Please let me know it there is a duplicate forum for this topic.
Here is my situation. I have two music libraries: lossless and lossy. The music in each libraries are unique. When I start a plex mix from a song from the lossless library, the plex mix queue only consists of songs from the lossless library. Would it be possible to have have plex mix build a queue with songs from both libraries? (For times I don’t care about quality)
I would like to leave the two libraries separate. It gives me peace to know that my hi-fi equipment is getting what it deserves.
I doubt you will see any intentional effort go to that, the whole point of separate libraries, is to keep them separate.
If you really want a combined library, then simply combine them.
Or create a third library that uses both.
Of course you will still won’t have your play counts etc kept in sync with the same music in different libraries, but it will solve your radio problem.
Making a third library sounds like the solution. The concern I have is whether a duplicate entry in another library will mess up the database let me try…
A third library is not a solution. The radios do use information about whether a track has been played recently or not. Whether this information is stored correctly or not, would now depend on from which library the track has been played.
This will be a big mess and you’ll have to edit metadata twice, if necessary.
Just give up the separation of flac and mp3 into separate libraries.
I don’t see a big use for it.
