Music Libraries Co-Mingling

Server Version#: 1.25.7.5604
Player Version#: 4.0.3

First of all I want to say that this music player is great. The ability to create rules has finally allowed me to listen to my ENTIRE catalog in a streaming music player! I’ve heard songs recently that I haven’t heard in years

I’m having an issue with the libraries however. I have an issue/question about how the Settings/Source option works.
I’ve two music libraries in separate directories within the root Media directory. And we point our PlexAmps at our own respective libraries.
I added my music when I first set up the server and then later my wife’s music in her own directory.

Naturally, since I made an effort to have separate music libraries, we’d prefer to be able to listen exclusively to one or the other. And that’s how it works for me but not for my wife. She always
gets a mix of both, no matter what rule or filter I employ.
Any ideas?

Thanks and keep up the great work

When you say she gets a mix, in what contexts is that the case? Like what is she playing specifically where she hears stuff from your library?

We typically like to listen to our entire library on random. So we will just select the “Tracks” option of Library icon in the app. When I do that, it is only my music that I see but she sees both of our libraries. The number of tracks is basically the amount of both our libraries. We both have “Search All Libraries” turned off and her player is definitely pointed to her music library.
I really appreciate your looking into this.

If she’s seeing the sum of the tracks, then I would humbly suggest the library configuration for her library might be incorrect. There’s no other way I can think of that it would have all music available

What about artists and albums, do those show the correct counts for each?

Yep. My mistake all along. I had, for some inexplicable reason selected the Plex Media directory instead of her directory. I didn’t think to check that because it’s so obvious that…
Oh well, once again, I really appreciate your help. It’s a great product.
