Plex Movie metadata adding from other libraries

Hello everyone. I created a separate library for “Specialty/IMAX versions” since Plex does not natively support alternate versions in their library structure.

I noticed though when I begin to play a movie with lets say an IMAX AR and stop playing, it’ll add both the IMAX version and the normal version from a separate library in my Now Playing window. I believe it is possible to remove an entire library from Now Playing but I still want them visible, and also I don’t believe it should be pulling metadata from other libraries.

If I’m doing this wrong, please let me know. Thanks!

You’re not doing it wrong, as long as you understand that Plex will not differentiate between different versions of a movie, even if they are in separate libraries. It also annoys me to see multiple versions in “Continue Watching”, but I think the workaround is to unpin the libraries you don’t want to show.

As far as metadata goes, that is not shared between libraries, so you should be good there.
