Hi, I’ve been using plex for a while and I don’t understand why movie playlists are so, so basic.
I think the playlists need:

  1. Covers in all apps of all available platforms.
  2. Playlist description sin all apps of all available platforms.
  3. More information on the items inside the playlists. The year of the movie minimum.
  4. Possibility of sharing a playlist and that the users that I decide can add or remove things from it.
  5. For users to whom a playlist is shared, they can pin it to start and the last playlist created will appear. And that is not a mere shared item.
  6. As an extra function it would be nice that like spotify, plex create custom lists. For example movies that you have seen more than twice, horror movies that you have not seen…

Go with collections instead.

That solution is very bad. We need to stop settling and ask plex to add functionalities. I explain:

  1. The collections have the cover of a movie not of a playlist (which are square)
  2. But the most important thing is that I cannot add films from different libraries in a collection (as is normal) while the playlists can, since that is their function.
  3. In addition, the collections do not appear pin on the home page.
  4. The collections do not organize the items in a list, which is what we are looking for.
    This does not solve the problem at all.
