Plex MS for Mac works until 1.15.2 only

When I updated to 1.15.3 or 1.15.4, a lot of movies (often mkv) are not playing. On the web, returns an error, and if I pass the error, it sometimes play. On Apple TV, using play icon just flash the screen and nothing happen.
Just going back to 1.15.2 solve everything.

But it could be linked to the video which comes prior the play (not the trailers but the one you choose yourself). Because if I use 1.15.2 and play 1 minute, then use 1.15.3.876 and play from 1minute, it plays, play from beginning don’t work.

Same problem…

Where I can get the previous version 1.15.2.?

I can’t see anything since the update

Uninstall everything according to Plex and I reinstalled the latest version and nothing

Mac mini server + Google drive + PMP Mac mini (iPad, iPhone, Android, etc…)

Thks

So again Plex don’t care about Plex Pass users when they paid for life. Not nice. That’s how you’ll let us go somewhere else. I’ll harass them by email again. Still not working all versions more recents.

Sorry you haven’t gotten a response. I just became aware of this issue.

The error you’ve shown sounds like a previously identified bug. Please re-analyse your videos. This can be done for an entire library by using Plex Web, clicking on the … menu next to the name of the library, then selecting analyze.

I know every time I have to send a mail to sales team to have someone reading the forums. Which proves it does not work as you recommend it.
Anyway.

I tried these steps but still no luck.

Back to the previous version.

Have you tried the latest version of PMS, 1.15.4?

An earlier version of PMS did have an issue with the analysis feature not working. I can’t remember off the top of my head which version it was, but the latest version does have the fix. Please try upgrading, then analyzing your media again.

I use now working version 1.15.2 but for the tests and the analyses I used 1.15.4, yes.
Not sure how long should analyses takes?

Ok. The logs you provided before were for 1.15.3. Analysis can take some time depending on the number of items you have in your library.

Another possibility is that there could be an issue with your database. There were some database related errors on your logs. You could check for errors and do a repair if it finds a problem. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201100678-repair-a-corrupt-database/

Still no luck. Tried the repair as you asked, tried to listen until my Synology stops making noise so Analysis should be finished (no status on that) - but still same problem.
I think it’s on the load of the “bonus” forced movie, not really the movie itself. In the browser I have this error:

Une erreur est survenue en essayant de lire « details?key=%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F111433 ».

Code d’erreur : s1001 (Réseau)

But I can Pass or Retry - if I pass I see the movie. On Apple TV it just do almost nothing.

Thanks, best regards

Ok, if you think it’s the pre-roll or a trailer, set it to not play any.

I want it to play. Very important for me and my family.
Was working, why not anymore… something needs to be fixed.

This is in your newest logs. This indicates that the Plex database hasn’t had a chance to update itself to match the current version. Please turn on the debug level logging for PMS. Then restart PMS. Don’t do anything, just let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Then try playing 1 thing that you’ve seen fail recently. Get me the logs. Also get me the XML for the video you tried to play.

Hi,
Still no luck.

The pre-roll when I read it alone it works fine.
(pre-roll is https://plex.tv/web/app#!/server/b1d0249b52432b8cbd7e899505a4e7349bc11b07/details?key=%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F111433)

Plex Media Server Logs_2019-05-15_17-44-36.zip (683.6 KB)

plex.txt (16.6 KB)

I see that there was a problem trying to play item 312950. which doesn’t match the pre-roll id you showed so it’s something else. Can you call up the xml for any video. In the URL you will see \metadata####. Replace that number with 312950 and get me the results.

Edit - Can you also do the same for id 130813.

312950 is 404 not found ?
130813 is the video I use on preroll.

The error I am seeing for 312950 makes sense. Not sure why it’s trying to look for that.

You sure about the preroll? The link you provided above says the preroll you set is id 111433.

I’m sure it’s where I end with this number yes, and the pre roll link too

Hmm something is odd. So PMS is trying to access the preroll since it is looking for 130813, but the link you provided above is:

https://plex.tv/web/app&_ga=2.37559328.1434454418.1557765830-1581225958.1497980092#!/server/b1d0249b52432b8cbd7e899505a4e7349bc11b07/details?key=%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F111433

See the last 6 digits, 111433. That is what PMS should be loading for the preroll, so I’m confused what is going on. Let’s deal with this one issue at a time. Can you clear out that field, so we can make sure PMS works properly.

Works without pre-roll

Ok, so it’s something with the pre-roll stopping the entire chain. I’ll ask the team to look into that. In the mean time, try adding the pre-roll again. You can enter the path directly to the file instead of using the path from PMS. Maybe try that.
