When I updated to 1.15.3 or 1.15.4, a lot of movies (often mkv) are not playing. On the web, returns an error, and if I pass the error, it sometimes play. On Apple TV, using play icon just flash the screen and nothing happen.
Just going back to 1.15.2 solve everything.
But it could be linked to the video which comes prior the play (not the trailers but the one you choose yourself). Because if I use 1.15.2 and play 1 minute, then use 1.15.3.876 and play from 1minute, it plays, play from beginning don’t work.
So again Plex don’t care about Plex Pass users when they paid for life. Not nice. That’s how you’ll let us go somewhere else. I’ll harass them by email again. Still not working all versions more recents.
Sorry you haven’t gotten a response. I just became aware of this issue.
The error you’ve shown sounds like a previously identified bug. Please re-analyse your videos. This can be done for an entire library by using Plex Web, clicking on the … menu next to the name of the library, then selecting analyze.
An earlier version of PMS did have an issue with the analysis feature not working. I can’t remember off the top of my head which version it was, but the latest version does have the fix. Please try upgrading, then analyzing your media again.
Still no luck. Tried the repair as you asked, tried to listen until my Synology stops making noise so Analysis should be finished (no status on that) - but still same problem.
I think it’s on the load of the “bonus” forced movie, not really the movie itself. In the browser I have this error:
Une erreur est survenue en essayant de lire « details?key=%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F111433 ».

This is in your newest logs. This indicates that the Plex database hasn’t had a chance to update itself to match the current version. Please turn on the debug level logging for PMS. Then restart PMS. Don’t do anything, just let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Then try playing 1 thing that you’ve seen fail recently. Get me the logs. Also get me the XML for the video you tried to play.
I see that there was a problem trying to play item 312950. which doesn’t match the pre-roll id you showed so it’s something else. Can you call up the xml for any video. In the URL you will see \metadata####. Replace that number with 312950 and get me the results.
See the last 6 digits, 111433. That is what PMS should be loading for the preroll, so I’m confused what is going on. Let’s deal with this one issue at a time. Can you clear out that field, so we can make sure PMS works properly.
Ok, so it’s something with the pre-roll stopping the entire chain. I’ll ask the team to look into that. In the mean time, try adding the pre-roll again. You can enter the path directly to the file instead of using the path from PMS. Maybe try that.
