Plex Music is not pulling data from ID3 tags

Plex Version: 1.22.3.4392 running on TrueNAS.
Player Version: 4.57.4

Plex does not seem to pull the ID3 tags from my music despite the fact I have selected “Use local metadata.”

For testing purposes (and to better show the issue) I have deleted my music library in Plex, optimized the database, restarted the jail, and only selected 1 music folder.

Here are my settings:


Here is the folder shown in MediaMonkey that has all of the correct metadata including album information.

Basically, it groups everything together in some sort of nonsensical album…which it should not do. If it’s pulling from the ID3 tags, there should be an album listed for each artist in the folder.

I have zero issue with Plex for movies as I’ve been using it for years. I’d like to get this working for my music collection as well.

It looks suspiciously like you have a bunch of random tracks from various albums by an assortment of artists dumped in one directory.

That’s exactly what it is. But that should NOT matter if Plex is using ID3 tags. I am NOT going to go through thousands of single songs and add a bunch of subdirectories because Plex is not using local metadata even though I have that option checked.
