PLEX Music is now the only Agent?

Matching in my Music library has only one option in the dropdown menu: Plex Music. It’s missing the Personal category, which is vital for my library, which consists of a lot of items with metadata I’ve added. What happened?

I tried reorganizing priorities in the Agents Settings menu, but nothing has any effect.

If you don’t want them matched, just “unmatch” them. No need to set to personal media.

I am confused. Why did Plex used to offer the Personal Media option if it was unnecessary? Also, the solution you gave doesn’t work for me. I unmatch the content but Plex immediately re-matches it, despite my clicking those useless lock icons.

It wasn’t always like this, so I’m wondering what happened that made the elegance of the old system obsolete.

You don’t see this?

No. Just Plex Music.

@BigWheel is referring to the “Edit Library” screen, and I think you re talking about simply fixing a match for an album. The new music agent/scanner doesn’t allow you to match with other agents. (I don’t think)

If your files have embedded metadata (and it has to be precise to work) Plex Music should use that metadata. I have quite a few unmatchable albums and artists, but they come through properly all of the time on the first scan.

In the advanced section for editing your music library, make sure that
Prefer local metadata is enabled
and farther down that under Genres you have “Embedded Tags” enabled.
There’s an option there for Art work too that you can adjust.

I’m not sure how well those options will work if you only have embedded metadata for those “unmatchable” albums. I think it’s an all or nothing sort of thing.

Hey guys,
Is there a way to have all music unmatched? To be honest I’m not that fussed if it’s matched as a lot of the time the record label info etc can be wrong. I sort all my own metadata before adding to my library.

When using PLEX Music as the agent, it allows only for PLEX Music matching. The system does not allow you to unmatch or use another agent. This is problematic because in most cases, the PLEX agent is more reliable than Last.fm. So all I’m asking for is to have the option to unmatch individual albums for which I want to keep my personal metadata, mainly mixes and other items that PLEX and Last.fm couldn’t match on their own.

There’s an Unmatch option at the album level. you cannot use another agent, that is true.

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. I’m looking at an album now and no Unmatch option is available.

I see it in the … menu.

Is there anyway to force an album to stay unmatched? There are 4 albums I have issues with, and I’d be happy if they just stayed unmatched, but inevitably, Plex re-matches them.

Mine isn’t rematching. I unmatched 2 albums the other day to test and they are still shown as unmatched for me. I’ve scanned that library during that time too.
