Hi
I am running Plex server 1.8.0.4109 in a FreeNAS jail and I have a Plex Pass. I have two music libraries, one in FLAC format, the other in MP3. The MP3 files were generated directly from the FLAC files and they are present to allow for faster syncing to my mobile rather than having to rely on the server to convert on the fly.
Anyway, to my problem:
When I view the FLAC library on the Plex web interface, I see the following figures for the amount of music present:
Artists: 617
Albums: 1625
Tracks: 22216
However when I view the same for the MP3 library, I get:
Artists: 617
Albums: 1621
Tracks: 22211
So Plex thinks there are fewer albums and tracks in the MP3 library than FLAC. Also by dumping the file list for both the FLAC and MP3 folders and comparing in Excel that the tracks are identical between each. Excel also tells me I should actually have 22217 tracks, suggesting Plex is counting the tracks wrongly for both libraries.
The files for both libraries are structured identically, i.e.
{Artist}/{Album}/{Track number} - {Track name}.{flac or mp3}
So, does anyone know why Plex might be counting incorrectly here? I have deleted the MP3 library and re-built it but the problem persists. I have also looked into the logs but cannot see any obvious problems. If anyone knows any way to better diagnose this then I’ll gladly try a few things.
Thanks in advance.
