"Extra" audio tracks in Plex vs files on HDD

HI all,

Pretty sure this is the opposite way round to every other topic I can find related to the subject - I’ve added my music library into Plex, and there are around 150 more entries in the Library than there are media files in the watched folder.

As you can imagine, I want to know what the files are!

Has anyone got any suggestion for how I can work out what they are, as there are far too many to go through manually? These are all audio (MP3, M4A and FLAC) so I added the bitrate column assuming some of them were non-audio files being added, but no, they all have an associated bitrate. I then wondered if I had any single file albums that plex was adding in individual track entries, and as far as i can tell I don’t have anything like that (if Plex would even do that?)

I’m at a bit of a loss to explain it!

Thanks in advance.

Are you counting tracks or albums?

Just tracks - trying to figure out if there is any way for me to count albums, but I dont think there is any easy way (total folders =/= total albums)

It doesn’t.

How are you counting the number of your files? Maybe your method is missing a few (perhaps in nested sub-sub-folders or similar)?

Ah thanks, I was using Everything, but when i tried WizTree it found extra MP3s that weren’t found in Everything - now more than show in Plex lol

So now i need to work out what the difference is, and which are missing from plex lol
