Plex Music - Scanning new folders and albums takes a very long time

First time adding any music to my Plex media server, and it’s taking a very long time to scan the folders and add them. It takes roughly 20 minutes per artist (30-50 songs).

I have followed the folder structure and naming convention on the Plex article. My scanner is Plex music. Agent is Plex music. I’m using both local and online album art. Prefer local metadata = yes.

Plex Pass member
CPU = Ryzen 3 3200G
16GB RAM
Plex on SSD
Media on HDD

Edit: Instead of the Plex Music agent i tried last.fm with Plex music scanner. And it completed the same folder within 3 seconds. Is there a bug with the Plex Premium Music agent/scanner? I feel like I paid for a broken “upgrade”.

It’s a known issue. The last couple of updates have had partial fixes. Are the cds you are adding one artist or is it a compilation of several artists?

I tried several artists at first, then went down to just 1 artist. Same super long times.

Am I missing out on anything else using last.fm agent? I use local metadata and local album art 99% of the time anyways. Do I still get to fetch lyrics?

I was told there is an issue with compilation cds aka various artists. Regular artist cds for me work just fine. As for last fm no idea. I’ve never switched agents.
