I wanted input on building a Plex Music Server. I already have a Plex Media Server that I’m fine with, but I’d like to have a separate server devoted strictly for music. Could someone recommend whether I should use a desktop or NAS? If any, what kind of desktop or NAS?
I have a Seagate Personal Cloud which isn’t powerful enough to proceed in building a Premium Music Library. There’s a lot of sonic fingerprinting that occurs with Plex when building this library and this server I have isn’t strong enough as the cloud will timeout after a given time because too much CPU is used during this process and the cloud as a ARM processor. I have about 20,000 tracks in MP3 format. I want to have a smooth experience with this.
