Plex used to display the Artist tagged in the “Artist” field when playing a song from a compilation. The “Album Artist” field would always be Various Artists, but the “Artist” filed would be the actual artist and be displayed. Now with the last few updates all of my compilation albums have a “BLANK” artist field even though the metadata in the embedded ID3 tag is there and “Various Artists” is displayed. What happened to the artist field? How can this be corrected?

Same problem - I have a flat list of music files with all artists and contributing artists included in the tags; however, the library shows one album (various artists) and doesn’t show any of the artists. It also isn’t finding any album art or even using the local images attached to half the files. I’ve tried changing to local vs plex server to pull data but nothing has worked yet. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The latest beta server version seems to have fixed this, hooray!
