Plex not auto-deleting TV episodes when I have it set to keep 5

I’m running PMS on Windows 7x64, and have recently set certain television shows to only keep 5 episodes at a time. When I made the change, it immediately deleted the excess episodes- now when new episodes are added Plex is not deleting them. I’ve allowed media deletion in the settings. The media is copied over via Sonarr, but even when I manually add it, Plex won’t delete anything.

If I change the settings to keep unlimited, then back again to keeping 5, it’ll cut it back down to five again right away… but not if you add anymore.

Sorry if I’m a dumb-dumb and I’m just missing something here

This feature is intended for use with Plex’s own DVR feature.
If you add episodes from “outside”, the check for how many episodes are there might not get triggered.
