Plex not available outside your network on LAN, But Available on WIFI

Hello,

I’ve run into a weird issue an I’m hoping someone with some more experience could help me. I’ve been running my server for a couple years now on the same computer and never had this issue. I moved back in August and the computer I was using needed to use WIFI for internet connection as no hard line was available. Now I have a LAN cable available to the computer I figured I would hard wire it for more consistent upload speed. As soon as the LAN cable was connected Plex notified me my server is no longer available outside my network. I removed the LAN cable and it immediately came back to full functionality. I was looking through my Router settings and Other threads similar but none seem to reference a problem like this. Does anyone know what the difference would be from WIFI to LAN on the Same Rogers Moden/Router (I Believe this is the model - Hitron’s DOCSIS 3.1 Gateway).

Thanks

If your computer has more than one network connection, disable those which you don’t want to use.

After switching network connections, you must quit/close/end/stop Plex Server and restart it. Otherwise it won’t notice the changed environment for several hours.

That didn’t seems to effect anything. I disabled my wifi card and restarted and the issues still remains

It may actually take a few hours for the status message to show accessibility again. Ignore it for so long.

Do also restart your Plex clients afterwards, so they get the information about the changed server IP.
