Plex not displaying correct TV episode names

First off. Hello again Plex Forum. I am glad to be back.

I just pulled the old Plex server out after being out of commission for a while, cause you know, life, and when I added a couple of new TV shows to it, all the info is incorrect despite the file names being correctly written. Is this a known problem? Or did something change while I was away?

My file name structure is as follows:
“Aeon Flux - s01e01 - Utopia of Deuteranopia.mkv”

but in Plex episode 1 is listed as “Pilot”.

When I check info, it does show the correct path to the correct episode, that being “Utopia of Deuteranopia.mkv” and it does play the correct episode as well. So I am utterly confused as to why the displayed name are incorrect.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

The new Plex TV Series agent defaults to information from The Movie Database. There, the first episode is indeed titled Pilot (actually this is the only episode of season 1).

In the past you had to fix that by manually re-matching a show with a different agent. Wit the new agent you can override the default episode ordering (incl. resulting names) through the show’s advanced options (:pencil2: > Advanced > Episode ordering). Check TMDb and TVDb to verify which of them has the correct order / naming, then select that option:
