I got a notification to update plex on my firestick 4k. I selected OK and it started through the process. The install timed out and now continues to time out. The plex icon still shows up on my “Home” page, and when I click it, it tries the install process again with no success.
Also, although the plex icon shows up on my firestick “Home” page, Plex is not listed as an installed app.
I’ve tried restarting the firestick numerous times and I’d like to avoid having to do a factory reset on it.
It does not let you uninstall?
In addition to BigWheel’s question - pull the power connection for 10 seconds after uninstalling to clear the buffers, etc.
It says it is installing, but then times out.
The icon for plex is listed in my apps, but it takes me to the page to download. I try but the same result

It is not listed under apps installed on my device so it has already uninstalled. It is however, listed on my home page, but when I click the icon it takes me to the page to download it.
Well, it finally installed. I went through the timing out issue a bunch of times. I took daranchlon’s recommendation and unplugged it but i left it unplugged for about ten minutes. When I plugged it back in, the plex app was there with a button that said “open.” Furthest along I had gotten so far. I clicked it but no response.
I then went into my apps and it was listed, so I took Big Wheel’s recommendation and tried uninstalling it. Then I unplugged for another 10 minutes.
Went back in and reinstalled it, and now it works.
