Server Version#: 1.13.9.5456
Player Version#: 6.17.0.4824
Ever since the last server upgrade, the Plex Media Server doesn’t automatically mark viewed videos as watched. Even when analysing the folder, nothing happens.
Any ideas? It’s really annoying because I use Kodi with the PleX Server as source and when clicking on a folder, I choose just to choose the unmarked episodes but get shown all of them.
How long does that take? I quit the server, waited 5 minutes and started it again. And for the last 15 minutes, I’m “downloading” the logs and nothing really happens. The zip file stays at 0 bytes and the download speed is “unknown”.
I simply start Kodi on my Fire Stick, go to Videos and then choose the Plex Media Server as the source, then I get to the folders that are in my Server.
But the videos I watched since the server update (did that two days ago) aren’t marked as viewed on my Plex Media Server on my PC as well, so it’s not just the Fire Stick
I’ll watch an episode of my current show on Plex next to see if it’s then marked as viewed afterwards on my PC as well.
I’m really trying to avoid installing the Plex Addon for Kodi because under Kodi, you can fast forward, if needed, very quickly, up to 10 minute steps. With the Plex addon, that fast forwarding in comparison is slowed to a crawl, like it’s in Plex.
If it works in Plex, I’ll simply have to mark them as viewed manually before going to bed.
@OttoKerner Is this bug occurring for all DLNA clients? I am experiencing the same issue with my two fetch tv boxes that access plex as DLNA. Is there an Eta on a fix or a plausible workaround?
If they want us to use their app, they should make it better. But so far, it only got worse with every update. First the atrocious UI change, then the player problems
It is being released right now as a beta version to Plex Pass users.
It might get available to the peneral public in a few days/weeks/months - depending on the number of showstopping bugs which may or may not get found during the beta phase.
