Plex not playing certain files from certain players

Hi,

Certain movie and TV files will not play from certain video players. My Nvidia Shield can play anything without fail. Some files cannot be played by all other players including: plex web player (chrome), Samsung plex app, LG plex app. The player is stuck on 0:00 with the buffering animation.

Here is a logfile which should have the incident in question. The file I attempted to play was the movie “In The Heights”. Please let me know if you need any more info!

The problem happens when transcoding. The error messages listed below repeat several thousand times in the log files.

The Shield direct plays almost all media, which is why it works OK. The other clients are transcoding due to settings or they do not support a certain format. For example, Chrome does not support HEVC video, so Plex must transcode it to H.264 (In The Heights is HEVC).

I am not familiar enough with docker to suggest a fix. I wanted to let you know where the problem lies. Someone familiar with running Plex in docker will be able to further assist you.

Thanks for narrowing it down. Much appreciated.

I have direct play and direct stream enabled in every place I know of.

Anyone who is familiar with transcoding errors, I would be grateful for some input!

I solved the problem.

If anyone stumbles on this:

Find your EasyAudioEncoder and change permissions to 777.
