The other day my plex server started acting odd. While it acts odd much of the time, this was MORE odd than usual. I normally watch my Plex on my computer. I have 3 screens so I just pop it into one and watch shows and movies there. I use my phone or tv if I am not home or in bed.
I am used to the computer version being a pain. It will freeze and just spin as if it can’t connect. It will say can’t play a file at times. I try to keep the database clean, trash emptied, and database optimized after I dump 30+ shows/movies into it at a time.
At the top of the home screen it shows the shows I am watching for Continue Playing. There are usually 5-8 shows up there at all times. Great so I can click to watch the next episode. That has vanished.
And not only did that vanish, but now I can’t get it to play anything at all from my TV SHOWS. Shows play on my TV or phone. But will NOT play on the computer. I either instantly get an OOPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG screen or I get the Error trying to playback (or load) video.
I keep thinking it must be a database error but again, plays fine NOT on the comptuer. Funny when it can’t find or load a file there since it’s on the same computer. I always verify the files are good using VLC player.
Well, now I am pretty sure it IS a database error. I decided to simply delete the TV shows library and re-add it. This sucks because of the insane amount of work I have done fixing episodes, adding in correct graphics for the series and shows and fixing entire series’ where Plex or TheTVDB would have the episodes wrong. It would say episode 3 but would play episode 4. I have spent literally well over 50 hours in making sure series and episodes are all correct. The thought of doing that AGAIN for the 5th or 6th time makes me want to say screw Plex and those that watch my server… lol I digress… When I tried to delete the library it said it was deleting it, but then the browser would refresh and it’s still there. It will NOT go away. And the errors won’t go away. Movies seem to work fine as do my tv mini-series. It can’t be a HD issue because the TV series is split amongst 3 HD’s and again, works on phone and tv…just not locally on the server computer.
I have emptied trash, optimized the db, scanned the library files, analyzed the files, and refreshed metadata. Nothing works.
Oh, and just an update before I create this topic…I just checked and now nothing will play locally. Movies, mini-series, tv shows, 4k movies, 3d movies, nothing… But they still work fine on my phone.

PS, I have 231 3D movies, 129 4K movies, 3162 HD movies, 19 Mini Series’s, 343 TV series’s (over 32000 files), and 31 workout videos. Now none will play locally. 
And I really don’t want to have to delete the entire database… Between ALL of those I have probably over 200 hours of fixing and editing the show / movie info, pictures, tags, etc…
