So this is a new one : plex does not recognize any of the filenames with an acctentuated characters anymore since I moved my library to a rclone mount.
I checked with rclone authors and contributors what could be wrong until I tried the same library with Emby and the files could be read without any issue.
It is to be noted the files with accentuated characters appear fine in the finder and can be read without issue by VLC.
I made an example file : 1 episode in 1 directory ‘Weeds - S07E11 - Une Mère Que J’aimerais Baiser Bluray-720p’
I add this directory ‘test2’, as a library.
There is only 1 file.
The episode gets recognized by plex, whch adds the 1 episode present to the library.
But immediately, the episode is marked as unavailable.
This happens for ALL episodes with an accentuated letter (Nausicaä for exemple).
Now I first asked Rclone as this behavior does not happen when the files are stored locally.
BUT Plex is the only program that shows this error.
I tested adding the same directory on Emby and it played the file without any issue whatsoever.
The files appear fine on the file system and can be played without issue on VLC.
ONLY plex can not see the file … despite adding it to the library !

My files are not lost yet and there is always the options to rename them without accent, but that is gonna be a mess.
Why does Plex add a file it sees but then can not find that file ?
I think there is a character encoding issue somewhere around.
