for some reason Plex is not recognizing some of the movies and TV series that i have recently placed on my hard drive/server. these files came from the same place and the others that are recognized by Plex.
There can be a number of reasons why your media doesn’t show. The most common issue is bad file names or library assignment (e.g. Plex movie libraries will ignore files named in accordance with their tv-show naming schema and vice versa).
If your file names are ambiguous, this can also cause them to be mismatched (either as something entirely different or as duplicate versions of an existing show/movie). You can check for those by filtering the library for Duplicates or sorting it By Date Added (to see if there’s any movies listed you don’t know / haven’t added).
