Play from last watched not working

Player Version#: Samsung Smart TV (UA55F8000) - 2.009 PMS Version: 1.15.3.876

Since the latest update the “Play from Last position” is not working. When a show was stopped in the middle, you were able to start it again from the last known position. Now every time a show stops, you can only start it again from the beginning. This is very frustrating. It worked perfectly and is now broken.

Assuming you’re using v2.012 (or older) than this is the issue; there will not be a fix since the developer of this app is no longer maintaining it.

If you can downgrade your Plex server and keep it there, that is one option. Alternatively, you may want to get an over-the-top streamer to replace using the Plex app on your TV.

I understand the developer of the App is long gone, but what has that got to do with the issue?

Plex must have changed something to cause this? why?

Is it possible to down-grade Plex server versions? - A warning about this would have been nice?

There is a bug in the older app for older Samsungs that was not developed by Plex. That bug didn’t show up until a bug on the server side was fixed for the majority of other clients.

Newer Samsung’s use the Plex developed/supported app and don’t have this bug.

We get that, however, considering the user base, would it not be in Plex’s interests to come up with a new/updated app for the non-Tizen Samsung Smart-Hub TV’s?

I understand in the early days, resources were limited, hence why a third party wrote this one, but surely Plex is big enough to allocate some time to this now?

Hi. I would like to know if any of those who had this problem have tried to update to the new versions of plex. And if they have updated if they continue giving the same problem. Thanks in advance

I have updated to the latest versions and still have the problem. Actively looking for alternative systems now as Plex does not seem to care about this issue.

Still no fix for this? Time to start looking into different home systems.
