On my desktop, I can’t properly show collections on my library - named “Film”. It mixes the movies and collections instead of just showing collection only. It works fine on my other libraries and also on clients including Plex Player, but not on my desktop.
I don’t know if I explained this fully, but I need help with this. Thank you.
One more thing, I did go into “edit library” and advance settings. No matter how I display the collection, it does not correct. I also cannot change collections to show chronological order, it just displays in alpha order.
I am an almost 69 year-old woman who has been using Plex since 2014 - however my technical knowledge is very basic, so please make it simple if you can.
Are those “smart collections”? Those do behave differently than classic collections – e.g., they won’t impact the visibility of their items in the main library.
There’s some inconsistencies in the advanced settings for those smart collections:
while they are offering the exact same display mode options, the options will only influence if the smart collection itself will be displayed inline with your media or only on the collections tab
the sort order of smart collections can only be changed by editing its filter criteria
Some of them are smart collections. I wonder though why the other libraries display correctly. I’m going to mess around with it today to see if I can figure it out. I’ve had this issue for a few months now.
Will restoring defaults destroy any customization of fields and libraries I have done. If you know, I would appreciate it. I don’t want to upset the apple cart. Thank you!
