Plex not showing update from m4a to flac

I’m using the Plex client on my PC.

I am going through my music collection and re-ripping the CD’s from lower quality to flac. For example the PC now show’s the update flac file alone for an album, the m4a files have been deleted but the info in Plex still shows the m4a.

I’ve rescanned the library and refresh the metadata.

Here’s another question. I’ve been using the free version of MediaMonkey for years. I’ve replaced that as a player with Plex. I still use the program to rip the CD’s. MediaMonkey can no longer use Amazon to Auto tag, so for many CD’s it’s showing up as an unknown album and unknown song names.

If I manually add the album name and import it to Plex, would Plex than be able to update the song list and album art?

Refreshing is not necessary.
Empty the library trash after updating the library will make Plex forget the deleted files.

(In some cases, emptying the trash may not work. Take a look into the properties of your library. Go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab and verify that all locations referenced there are still existant, accessible, not completely empty folders.)
